暑かった、モンバサ。

３－４日のモンバサ滞在予定が、2週間になってた。
色々、なかなか、仕事は、思っているように順調に進んではくれなかったのです、港でね。
悪戦苦闘でした。
旦那ちゃん、お疲れ様。

何から書けばいいのやら～～～。わかりませんけども、ちょっとずつ、モンバサ情報載せますね。

とりあえず、海の写真、載せておきますね。

このすぐ左側は、大統領宅があります。
モンバサに来た時、大統領は、この景色と、プライベートビーチを独り占めできちゃう。

Arabian Nights 

きっと、結構昔の映画だとおもいますが、うまく作られていますね。

しょっぱなから巨人とインド人女性のＣＧ。


アラビアン・ナイトの話、知ってたようで、知ってない。
なので、興味深々。

しかも、この巨人とインド人女性は夫婦。笑
夢の中の話やったけど。


アリババの話。
”開けゴマ”（Open sesami）!の話。

これも、おもしろ～～～～い。


中国っぽい、魔法のランプのお話も。笑


空飛ぶ絨毯の話も。



この映画、思った以上に面白いです。
オススメかも。

でもね、ちょっと、長いんだ。
約3時間。



千夜一夜（マルドリュス版、ちくま文庫）では、偶然盗賊たちの財宝の隠し場所を知った樵のアリババは、「これはアッラーのお恵みで、盗賊たちが不当に得た財宝を我々が正当に使うようにとくださったのだ」といって財宝を持ち帰っていますね。

ちなみにその後は、アリババが思わぬ富を得たことを知った兄のカシムは言葉巧みにアリババからことの次第を聞き出し、早速自分も財宝を盗みにいくのですが、秘密の洞窟に入ったのはいいがでる時にせっかくの呪文を忘れてしまい（「ひらけ、大麦！」「ひらけ、トウモロコシ！」とか一所懸命）、帰ってきた盗賊たちに殺されバラバラにされます。

帰ってこないカシムを探しにいったアリババは、カシムの亡骸を見て悲しみながら持ち帰り、ひそかに埋葬しますが、死体が消えたことから盗賊にもうひとり秘密を知るものがいることを知られてしまいます。盗賊の手下はバラバラ死体を埋葬した家を突き止め、チョークで門に印をつけまが、賢い奴隷女のモルジアナがその印に気づき、近所の家にも片っ端から同じ印をつけ、盗賊の目を眩ませます（これが二回繰り返される）。

盗賊の頭はとうとう自らがアリババの家を突き止め、瓶の中に手下を潜ませ、自分は油商人に扮装してアリババの館を訪ねます。盗賊の正体を知ったモルジアナは煮立った油を注いで、手下を殺し、宴会中に剣舞によって盗賊の頭を殺します。

...というわけであまり「お子様向け」というわけではないかも（いやま、「千夜一夜」の発端からして「お子様向け」ではありませんが）。

でも、「ひらけゴマ」という呪文、洞窟の中に隠された財宝、盗賊と機転の効く賢いモルジアナとの知恵比べ、と、わくわくさせる要素いっぱいのお話なのは確かで、千夜一夜の中でも良く知られた話のひとつ

Shimba Hills National Reserve

	Size: 195m 2/75 sq im.
	Best time to visit: All year round.
	Wildlife: Sable antelope, elephants, birds.
	Getting there: Shimba Hills is situated a one-hour drive on mainly good roads inland from Diani Beach south of Mombasa. The bush roads inside the park vary from fair to poor.

Shimba Hills National Reserve is situated not very far inland from the coast south of Mombasa in Kenya. It offers a landscape very different from most other parks. Shimba Hills is hilly and forested, varying in altitude from 100 m/330 ft to 450 m/1,475 ft above sea level. The forests, glades and views make this a beautiful park.
One of the most beautiful antelopes, the sable, can be found there. It's the only sable population in Kenya. You may also see elephants, giraffes, buffalos and other antelopes, as well as ostriches and eagles. The butterflies are plentiful. The big African cats are represented by the leopard, but it is rarely seen, as the rich vegetation is perfect for this secretive cat to hide in. There are also servals and hyaenas.

Shimba Hills is not one of the prime safari parks, where you can expect to see all kinds of African mammals. It is a nice place to for a day tour, though, for example to get a break from the nearby beaches. A recent translocation of animals from Tsavo East has increased the numbers of giraffes, hartebeest and impalas, though.

Close to Mombasa, Shimba Hills National Park is a small hilly plateau situated at 33 km south from Mombasa (near Kwale Town)
All hills have views points which offer splendid views of the hilly and forested countryside and far as the Indian ocean and Chale island to the East and the Tsavo plains and Taita hills to the West.

Visiting the park is a great opportunity to discover the dry red-soil of inland Kenya by doing a real safari and observing African elephants while being near the coast and still enjoying the freshness of the coastal breeze.

The park is well managed, the road is good all year round and there are plenty of signposts, to direct you. These is also a few choice of accommodation for those willing to pass the night in an equatorial forest populated by elephants or for sundowners lovers.



How to get there :
From Mombasa, take the ferry at Likoni to access the southern coastline where Diani and Tiwi beaches are. Then, take the main A14 coast road 10 km southwards until you join the main crossroad. Take the road climbing to Kwale Town (C106). The main gate is located at 1 km from the C106 road and 3 km from Kwale.

Shimba Hills is the name of the hills rising above the palm-fringed reaches of Kenya's coastline. Surrounded by a forested area of approximately 24'000 hectares, the park has a unique wooded ecosystem rich in flora but also in fauna - with all the same elephants, giraffes and the rare sable antelopes.

Vegetation is very dense therefore the few pastures and grasslands available are the best places to view animals who usually move towards rivers to drink and plains to graze. They are on eastern side of the park near the Giriama point, the Longo forest or the Buffalo ridge. Because it is very hot, animals stay in the forest during the day and no animals are seen. So very late afternoon is best time.

The main attraction of the park are the Sheldrick falls,an impressive 25 meters high waterfall of fresh spring water, and its marked foothpath in gallery forest to see the falls.

Based in the Kwale district of the Shimba Hills region – bordering the Shimba Hills National Reserve, and only 45 km southwest of Mombasa, Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary covers over 36 km² of land and is characterised by forests, steep cliffs, rolling hills, bush land with baobabs, streams and water holes – all striking backdrops for the wildlife.

It was established in 1993 specifically to preserve the fragile ecosystem and to help manage and maintain the population of various species inhabiting the area; however, the focus is, of course, on the conservation of elephants.

With over 150 elephants living in the sanctuary, and with many other elephants living in the hills, forests and nearby Shimba Hills National Reserve, the area is the most densely populated natural breeding ground for elephants in the world. At certain times of the year, whole elephant groups gather for ‘reunions’ (usually in December, March and April), which can be noisy affairs.

The number of human - elephant conflicts were increasing prior to the sanctuary’s establishment, as elephants would trample crops and disturb villages, with humans in turn needing to control the elephant population.

Now, having established the sanctuary, many of the former farmers have become the guardian’s of the elephants, making their living from the tourism associated with the sanctuary. Therefore, by visiting the sanctuary you are not only helping the elephants but also the local community.

However, elephants are not the only attraction. The botanical life in the sanctuary is also fascinating, offering much to see and experience. There are a wide variety of different plant species, including many which have their origins in the Jurassic period of 300 million years ago. An example are the Cycads, which resemble small palm trees. Today, most of these ancient plants are endangered, but Cycads are protected in the Sanctuary – there are many still to be seen.

Located at approximatively 14 km from the main gate of Shimba Hills N.P., the Elephant sanctuary is linked with the National park by a fenced elephant corridor, so there are chances to see elephants crossing the main red-soil road. The sanctuary was created in 1993 to fight against deforestation by protecting unique gallery forests running alongside a large rivere. The sanctuary is dedicated to the elephant protection by minimizing human-wildlife conflict and enhance the socio-economic development in the area. The forest is also home for endemic bird species and indigenous trees species such as Mbambakofi (Afzelia quanzensis), Mgurure (Milicea execelsa) and Mvule (Combretum schumanii) and six species of Cycad, a fan-like plant which evolved 300 million years ago (Eucephalartos hildebrantii) and is listed on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), are found in the sanctuary). You are sure to see elephants and spectacular dry sceneries. The circuit is 9 km long and can be done with any car. Note that unfortunately, guide at the gate are not available so unless you are real specialist, it is impossible to find these unique tree species and there is not much to see ? But, you can purchase paper handmade from elephant dung at the gate to promote the project. - Visit their website

Day tours from the coast
Local tour operators and some hotels offer full- or half-day tours from the coast to Shimba Hills, or you may hire a taxi for a day in the park (make sure to hire a 4WD). If you go by taxi, remember there's a park entry fee to pay (USD 20 for adults). If you go with a tour operator, the entry fee should be included in the tour price

タウン

今日は、久しぶりにナイロビ・タウンへ行ってきました。
メインは、ポスト私書箱の中。
そして、お買いもの。


今日はね、良い天気だったんだ～だから、バス乗りながら青い空みて、気持ち良かった。
ま～、タウンから家に帰る時には、大雨に変わったけど。


いつもと同じ風景だけど、今日はね、ず～～～とipodでダウンロードしたK-POPを聞きながら外出してたの。そしたら、自分の中がちょっとリラックスしたモードいなっているのか、気分良かった。いつもの風景だけど、違ったように感じれた。


タウンの街中でも、人からじろじろ見られるんだけど、もう、私は、自分の世界に入って、いつものように、気合入れて、早歩きぎみで動くのです。

ダラダラ歩いてたら、狙われる？変な人に声かけられたり、お金ちょ～だい、って言われるし。スタスタあるく。


ジャミアにある郵便私書箱には、日本から小包があったよ。
うふふふ。嬉しい❤
韓国ＤＶＤ、日本語字幕。
コマプスミダー、チングよ。


それから、ママンから、植物、家庭菜園の種がたくさん届いたよ。
イチゴとか、ちゃんと育つのか？と心配ですが。。。。。



私書箱は、こんな感じでた～～～～くさんあるんです、迷う、自分のを探すのに・・・・・

それから、ビアシャラ・ストリートでぷらぷら、お店をはしご。
裁縫系のレース、布、ジッパー、などお買いもの。

レースは、ま～、希望していた黒レースは見当たらなかったけど、白を何種類かゲット。
日本より、はるかに安い。
このビアシャラ・ストリートは好き。
でも、布は値上がりしてましたね。

あと、とっても素敵な彫り物の細工がしてある小さめ折り畳みコーヒーテーブル3つセットがあったんだ～。でも35,000Ksh(円)だった・・・・高っ。
コーストで作られたものかな～？と思って聞いたら、パキスタン製、輸入物だった。
今の私には、買えましぇ～～～～ん。
いつか、自分でお店を構えれた時には、このような素敵なテーブルを揃えたいのです。
夢みてます、はい・・・・・


シティー・マーケットのところに100均が！！！
でも、超しょぼかった。
一切買いたいものなかったし、魅かれる商品もなかった。the・中国やったで・・・・・


タウンにあるスーパーのタスキーズでパンを購入。
この店舗のパンは、他の店舗よりも美味しく感じられる。なんでやろ？
って、この辺から、雲が怪しくなってきたので、急いで、バス停に向かって早く歩く。
バス停前で、雨降ってきて、ギリギリ、バスに乗れて、ずぶ濡れにならずにすみました。
しかし、渋滞だった。
しかたがないね。
